tale of two styles

meet justina and vilna. both incredibly stylish and beautiful girls with their own unique style for that day! i love it :) i was so happy i got their picture and the best part? they're such sweet girls ;) totally made my day. 

a smile can make a change

at first she didn't want to be photographed. "wo de lian bu hao kan", she said in chinese. ("i don't look good") but after a bit of persuasion in my broken, off-toned chinese, she finally agreed. then i made her laugh and this is the picture i captured and love about her. she's just adorable and if i could pull off that hair style i totally would. haha

dessert rings & leopard skins

i have to thank Christine's friend for this picture. i absolutely love those buddies who nudge their friends into the limelight to let me take their pictures. sometimes i just want to HUG THEM <3 haha thank you to all those supportive friends/boyfriends who have encouraged their friends to step in front of my lens :)

# now i really need to get me one of these shorts. because i dress up at home (without air-conditioning), i really hate to pull on anything tight. i love things that breath. i especially like to let my legs breath. so it's time for some shorts!

nicolethen studios: fashion shoot

this was the results for a shoot I did with Nadia and although she doesn't have any modeling experience, she photographs like a dream. plus she's got amazing style, she came to the shoot with a studded sleeveless top and a union jack straw handbag. totally cute! i love shooting real girls, i love finding their best angles and guiding them into the right positions to make them look their best. not that Nadia had any bad angles, she was a joy to photograph! can't wait for more shoots with her :)

# another challenge doing this shoot was the location. i had to do it in my neighborhood which i promise you is not at all what we call "photogenic". but i love challenges, and i'm glad i managed to create a nook & cranny of whimsical in a very "typical singaporean neighborhood".

a hearty laugh with friends

when i spotted these three adorable girls, i thought they were doing some school project and that was their "cca-tee". but no, haha these three musketeers were just roaming orchard for a shopping spree as tourists from thailand. I love how they are wearing nearly the same thing but each has their special spin. 


i told them, you can do something fun if you girls liked. and they pulled a couple of funny faces.and just after that moment they laughed with fun and slight embarrassment and that's the second shot i chose which is just so cute and exudes the simple joy portrayed through a hearty laugh with friends.

milan boys

this was a shot i snapped of Ridhwan, the brilliant photographer and illustrator for onesixtynotepad, for an insing.com street style gallery. if you haven't already heard, i've been a huge fan of the talented duo (plus dinie) ever since i met them at NAFA where Ridhwan showed me his cartoon sketch of madonna. INSANITY! It was just brilliant. and then i was dressed by Dinie's amazingly styled and designed YSL-like outfit (beautifully done). on that drama filled afternoon chilled down with ice cream, i joined their fan club. these boys were sweet and totally destined for great things. their blog and work is now celebrated by local magazines and recognized by international brands too!

i took this picture quite some time ago actually. haha but hesitated about putting it up because i was afraid she wouldn't like the shot i chose. but i absolutely love this babe! she has this cool "essence" of her and she reminds me of one of the models in the latest season of ANTM. i don't know why she was frowning, haha but i thought it was really cute! plus don't you love those doc martens? I can't wait to collection mine :D
